Sometimes a client will elect to send their own fabric for the upholstery pieces that they have selected. This is know as "COM", for customer's own material. Doing this can help to tie their space together with what is going on in the rest of the rooms; draperies, etc... These fabrics require special attention to details and careful explanation of their placement.
Furnitureland South is located within a 100 mile radius to most of the upholstery manufacturers that we represent. For this job, my client is Canadian and requested American made Traditional upholstery pieces. We selected Southwood Furniture and when I saw the fabrics that were selected, I knew I had some work ahead of me to make this job go smoothly.
I sat down with the lead upholster at Southwood Furniture factory to review the "Details" of how the pattern would layout, and exactly how the cuttings would be placed on the frame. The Chairs my client selected had three fabrics going on one frame. It was key that everyone understood exactly where each fabric was to go; seat cushion, arm panels, inside and outside back. The details were critical and mistakes would be costly.
Attention to Details, the resources of Furnitureland South, the committed craftsmen at Southwood Furniture and fact we are located in North Carolina gave me and everyone involved another "Satisfied Client".
